Kenneth Gerald Jones is a 1993 graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and a 1998 cum laude graduate of Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Jones has been with Bowles & Verna since receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1998.  He became a partner in the firm in 2006. Mr. Jones has extensive experience in construction, insurance, products liability and intellectual property litigation. He has developed particular expertise in reinsurance coverage matters concerning the London Market, as well as in public and private construction disputes. Mr. Jones also has extensive experience handling various intellectual property disputes with particular expertise in patent, trade secret, non-disclosure and non-compete matters.

In addition to his litigation services, Mr. Jones also provides on-site training for construction executives, management and personnel regarding the confluence of issues concerning the construction and insurance industries.  He is the editor of the firm's Construction Law Update, and the author of several articles relating to new economy and international law issues. Mr. Jones is currently a member of ARIAS, U.S., the American Bar Association (Section of Science and Technology, Litigation and Intellectual Property), the Computer and Technology Law Association and the Contra Costa Bar Association.

Personal Information

Mr. Jones was born in Houston, Texas before moving to California at the tender age of nine. After attending De La Salle High School in Concord, he went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) were he received a bachelor degree in Political Science. While at UCLA he played football for the Bruins for two seasons and served as the president of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity for one year. In 1995, he married Sandy Kick, a second grade teacher at Happy Valley Elementary School in the Lafayette School District. Sandy graduated from Clayton Valley High School in Concord, and thereafter received her bachelor degree from Chico State University. Together, they have three children and reside in the East Bay.
