Veronica Ann O. Benigno is an associate with Bowles & Verna whose practice centers on general civil litigation, and includes labor and employment matters and reinsurance disputes. Ms. Benigno is admitted to practice law in California and New York.
Ms. Benigno graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Law (also known as “King Hall”) in 2004. Ms. Benigno developed her interests in employment law as an intern at the Employment, Regulations and Administration Section of the Office of the California Attorney General, and as an Employment Clinic Coordinator at the Voluntary Legal Services Program of Northern California in Sacramento. She also worked at King Hall’s Immigration Law Clinic, where she defended clients in removal proceedings and assisted clients in obtaining political asylum. After graduating from law school and prior to joining Bowles & Verna, Ms. Benigno gained invaluable insight into appellate practice and honed her oral as well as written advocacy skills as a judicial law clerk at the New York State Court of Appeals. She was a judicial law clerk to the recently-retired Honorable Albert M. Rosenblatt. She also clerked as a Central Staff attorney in Albany, New York working on motions for leave to appeal, sua sponte dismissals (SSDs) and sua sponte merits (SSMs) for all seven Judges of the New York State Court of Appeals.

Personal Information
Ms. Benigno was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in the neighboring suburb of Daly City. She spends her free time working in the community and helping local youth. While in Albany, New York, she volunteered as a reading tutor to third-grade students at a local elementary school. Now, having returned to the Bay Area, she is an officer and active member of the Banal Na Pag-Aaral Youth Ministry, advising and guiding high school students in San Francisco, Richmond, and San Jose. Ms. Benigno enjoys singing, dancing (including Filipino folk dancing), snowboarding, and playing basketball, tennis and squash. She is also an avid hiker and scrap-booker.
